Shrewsbury Street is home to some of the best restaurants in Worcester. Not sure where to start? The restaurants below represent the variety and quality of a Shrewsbury Street Worcester Restaurant.
Nuovo in Worcester has been serving Italian food with a Mediterranean flair. Open from Tuesday-Saturday beginning at 4 p.m., Nuovo has all the traditional Italian dishes you would expect from an Italian restaurant. However, they add touches of olive oil, olives, and tomatoes to their dishes creating a perfect balance of healthy and comfort food. They serve beer and wine and have a fully equipped private room with AV and internet for parties, meetings, weddings, or private events. They can accommodate up to 90 seated guests, 150 guests cocktail style, and work with the customer to create a personalized menu. This Shrewsbury Street Worcester Restaurant even has a private bar and dance floor surrounded by exposed brick and leather chairs.
The name, Brew-City, is appropriate for this bar, and the grill has a rotating menu of 165 beers (and 41 drafts). Make sure to check out their weekday specials: buy one, get one meal, half-price appetizers, and a Haddock special. They have entrees like Moroccan Salmon and Brew House Bourbon Steak Tips if you want something fancy. On the other hand, they have sandwiches, pizzas, and salads if you’re looking for something quick and casual. You can also have a Build Your Own Burger option to choose your meat, roll, cheese, sauce, and toppings. They will even open up to pantry items like peanut butter and potato chips. Brew City also offers a large, separate menu for gluten-free customers. Brew-City has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for fancy or casual. However, they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Basil N’ Spice offers “artfully crafted” Thai cuisine. There’s something for everyone at Basil N’ Spice. The restaurant has a large menu consisting of traditional Thai dishes but also serves salads, soups, vegetarian, pad thai, curry dishes, noodles, and seafood. The meals look like works of art, with one appetizer even shaped into a rose. The beautifully arranged meals make sense when you realize their owner, Bator Lachmann, was “a master caterer” in Israel before opening the restaurant.
Their signature dishes include Chicken Teriyaki, Seafood Madness, Wild Boar Basil N’ Spice, and several duck variations. In addition, they divide their items into categories of “somewhat spicy” and “spicy.” For beverages, they have several different kinds of tea. You can choose from Thai Iced Tea, Lemon Thai Tea, Iced Jasmine Tea, and Iced Green Tea. For dessert, they offer sticky rice with mango or Thai custard, Pumpkin Custard, and Fried Banana Roti.
You can’t go wrong with a Shrewsbury Street Worcester Restaurant: from Thai food to American food to Italian, there’s something for everyone in Worcester.
